Apple Bigotry
In the middle of the summer I got an iPad 16 Pro, and I've been actively using it since then. It really boosted my productivity. Now I often sit and sketch out all sorts of ideas, draw diagrams, set myself a task tracker. I even set up a terminal that connects via ssh to the droplet where Cedar Clerk is located.
Before that, I had been using an iPhone 13 for about 5 years. Before that I only had a couple of Sony Xperia phones, and long ago a Nokia 6600 and a Motorola E398. And I'm very pleased with the iPhone! It's still almost like new, holds a charge well, and takes great photos. In all this time (and I bought it not long before the war started) and with all my adventures, I haven't scratched it anywhere.
When I worked at ChillBase, at some point I even had a work MacBook Pro, which was necessary since we developed the game for iOS as well. And I simply enjoyed working on it. The only problem was the relatively small amount of memory, and after a few dozen game builds I had to periodically clean up the cache.
But I'm not some kind of Apple fanatic or defender, for me it's just a convenient device with good UI/UX. Most of the time I still spend at my Windows laptop anyway.
My laptop, by the way, is an Asus Strix G16. I bought it while still living in Georgia, brought from the USA. I never had a laptop before that, but circumstances demanded it. It's already been through all the moves, for which I'm very grateful. Thanks to what I have here, I owe a lot to my laptop, which allowed and still allows me to earn a living. Nevertheless, it's still a gaming laptop, though not the top model.

Recently I've been thinking that the maximum 32GB of RAM isn't enough for me. Also, in principle, over the last couple of years the laptop's screen has started to flicker at certain loads, though definitely not because of temperature or something like that, but rather because of power issues. I recall that this particular laptop model has a manufacturing defect, where when the load spikes, it can cut power to the motherboard. How do I know? Because my friend has exactly the same laptop, and this happened to him!
Even after purchasing:
I even bought a kapton tape and attached it to a potentially dangerous spot. But there's still some feeling of an unexploded bomb.
In short, I started thinking about buying a new computer. And I began considering the Mac Mini, which has recently become trendy.
And then, unexpectedly, they're throwing out the new Mac Mini M6 without any prior announcement!
The most annoying thing is that I took it a week before being laid off 👍👍👍👍👍👍 So... I'm gonna stay on a street, but at least I'll have a Mac Mini M6.

Tomorrow I'll be streaming the unboxing, setup, and first impressions! https://twitch.tv/martycowlive
